MATRANEWS.id — Panglima TNI Leads International Fleet Review: The 4th MNEK 2023

Makassar, June 7, 2023 — Admiral Yudo Margono, the Chief of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), accompanied by the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, led the spectacular International Fleet Review (IFR) as part of the 4th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) on June 5.

The event took place in the waters of Makassar aboard the newly inaugurated domestic VIP vessel, KRI Bung Karno-369.

KRI Bung Karno-369, a state-of-the-art vessel, proudly produced by Indonesian experts, made its debut on June 1, 2023. As a symbol of national pride, this ship represents the remarkable achievements of Indonesia’s maritime industry.

During his address, Admiral Yudo Margono emphasized the significance of the International Fleet Review as a means to enhance cooperation, particularly in the realm of naval diplomacy, while ensuring maritime security and stability. The event aimed to foster collaboration between the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) and naval forces from around the world.

The 1.5-hour voyage around the Soekarno Hatta Port in Makassar served as an opportunity to inspect the participating naval vessels in the 4th Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) of 2023.

Accompanied by the KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366, the KRI Bung Karno-369 sailed in a procession, encircling the fleet of ships contributed by various nations participating in The 4th MNEK 2023.

The Admiral and his entourage were greeted with great honor and respect by the personnel aboard the ships. Moreover, the Sigma-class warship was accompanied by two fully armed Sea Riders from the Indonesian Navy Special Forces, providing additional security.

The International Fleet Review and MNEK 2023 serve as a testament to Indonesia’s commitment to fostering international cooperation, strengthening naval diplomacy, and ensuring the stability and security of the seas. This grand event not only showcases Indonesia’s naval capabilities but also reinforces the nation’s role as a significant player in global maritime affairs.

Panglima TNI Laksamana TNI Yudo Margono didampingi Kepala Staf Angkatan Laut (Kasal) Laksamana TNI Muhammad Ali memimpin International Fleet Review (IFR) Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) Ke-4 Tahun 2023, di Perairan Makassar menggunakan KRI Bung Karno-369, Senin lalu (05/06).

KRI Bung Karno-369 merupakan kapal khusus VIP produksi dalam negeri yang baru saja diresmikan pada tanggal 1 Juni 2023. Kapal ini merupakan produksi karya anak bangsa Indonesia.

Dalam sambutannya, Panglima TNI menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan International Fleet Review merupakan wujud untuk meningkatkan hubungan kerja sama, khususnya di bidang diplomasi TNI AL yang harus dipupuk terus untuk menjaga stabilitas keamanan laut.

Lebih lanjut kegiatan MNEK 2023 merupakan salah satu upaya dalam rangka meningkatkan hubungan kerja sama antara TNI AL dengan angkatan laut seluruh dunia.

Pelayaran yang ditempuh selama 1,5 jam di sekitar Pelabuhan Soekarno Hatta Makassar tersebut, bertujuan untuk inspeksi kapal perang peserta Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) Ke-4 Tahun 2023.

KRI Bung Karno-369 yang dikawal KRI Sultan Hasanuddin-366 mengelilingi barisan kapal-kapal dari negara-negara yang berkontribusi dalam The 4th MNEK 2023 dan mendapatkan penghormatan dari para prajurit yang berada di kapal tersebut. Selain dikawal kapal perang kelas Sigma juga mendapatkan pengawalan dua buah Sea Rider dari Pasukan Khusus TNI AL dengan bersenjata lengkap.
